JUNE ARTTALK WITH SEAN WARD & GEORGIA GOLDBERG
Thursday, June 4 | 7:00 p.m.
Free and open to the public

Join us as artist-in-residence Georgia Goldberg and visiting artist Sean Ward present their work during our monthly ArtTalk. Goldberg’s installations reference time and space through mark-making, light, and shadow. Her layered, multi-dimensional installations are constructed with Plexiglas, wax, paper, fabric and board and incorporate drawing with ink, wire, and thread. Ward is currently building A Pre-Conscious Space, a shimmering wattle and cob cave that will premier on July 24 during Mutual of Omaha’s Wild About Omaha celebration. This functional music venue and event-space is located within the Okada building, directly to the East of the Bemis Center’s main facility.

NEW ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
Margaret Meehan
MARGARET MEEHAN, DALLAS, TX: 6/1/09 - 8/30/09

Dallas based artist Margaret Meehan's concern with locating the sublime in the grotesque is as grounded in a traditional Victorian obsession with medical anomalies as it is with defying our more recent attempt to banish all nastiness and discomfort from our daily experience.
